Dear MDTP
students: You are why this graduate program exists. Your performance
here and in your future careers are the basis of the program's
quality and reputation. Your participation and efforts are
critical for program governance, activities, and recruitment
of outstanding new students to follow in your footsteps. You
also have an impact beyond your education and the graduate
program, on the University of Wisconsin, the core departments
of Bacteriology and Medical Microbiology & Immunology,
and the labs of faculty who are your thesis advisors, committee
members, and seminar audience members. For example, the initiation
and development of the Microbial Sciences Building to house
research and instructional space for Bact, MMI, and Food Microbiology
& Toxicology were intertwined with the formation and growth
of the interdepartmental MDTP when the Bact and MMI departmental
programs merged. Program faculty and staff appreciate and
applaud your research, scientific career development, and
contributions to making MDTP the outstanding program that
it is. Always feel free to provide feedback and suggestions,
via student representatives on program committees or directly
to program faculty and staff. The program likes to be good,
and would like to be even better!
