Heather Allen (Prof. Jo Handelsman, Bacteriology): Functional metagenomics to discover antibiotic resistance genes in natural environments. Heather is currently a postdoc at the University of Iowa, NADC.

Jennifer Van Vleet (Prof. Tom Jeffries, Bacteriology): Yeast Metabolic Engineering for Ethanol Production Guided by Gene Expression Analysis. Jennifer is employed by EdenIQ in Visalia, CA as Senior Genetics Scientist.

Sharon Altmann (Prof. Curtis Brandt, Ophthalmology): Therapeutic Intervention for Pox viruses. Sharon is currently a postdoc at NIH/NIAID in Bethesda, MD.

Yolande Chan (Prof. Michael Thomas, Bacteriology): Formation and Incorporation of Two New Polyketide Synthase Extender Units. Yolande is currently a postdoc in Prof. Joe Dillard's lab in the Medical Microbiology and Immunology Department at UW-Madison.

David Wolfe (Prof. Gary Roberts, Bacteriology): Characterization of factors regulating PII function in Phodospirillum Rubrum.

Andrew Berti (Prof. Michael Thomas, Bacteriology): From Sequence to Structures: Mining Pseudomonas syringae for natural product. Andrew is currently working at Epic and plans to go to Pharmacy School in 2010.

Josh Troll (Prof. Margaret McFall-Ngai, Medical Microbiology and Immunology): Peptidoglycan Recognition Proteins at the intersection of immunity and development in the squid/vibrio symbiosis. Josh is currently a postdoc at the University of Oregon.

Laura Valentine (Prof. David Watkins, Pathology Department): CD8+T cells in elite control of SIV. Laura is currently a postdoc at the University of California-San Francisco.

Arturo Diaz (Prof. Paul Ahlquist, Molecular Virology): Formation, Structure, and Organization of the RNA Replication Compartments of Brome Mosiac Virus. Arturo is currently a postdoc in the Ahlquist Lab.

N. Cecilia Martinez Gomez (Prof. Diana Downs, Bacteriology): In vitro characterization of Fe-S cluster enzymes involved in Thiamine Biosynthesis. Cecilia is currently a postdoc at the University of Washington, Seattle.
